FOXYGEN DEPRIVED

Take The Kids Off Broadway (Jagjaguwar) cover art
Foxygen - Take the Kids Off Broadway - 2012

It looks like I missed this one when it came out this summer.  You will love.  22 year old kids, so the up-side is huge on these bros.

OBSERVER DRIFT - CORRIDORS

This is a nice sleeper hit that I picked up at MARRY ME TO THE SKY (f/k/a Sun Was High) and it is kicking my ass with strong vibes.  Think Washed Out x Memory Tapes x minimalization, with a better voice.  Limited to 250 copies on vinyl, I think this is going to be on everyone's Christ Mass list.

This is my first full length/self released album. I wrote all these songs in a period of about 8 months. I recorded/produced all these songs on my own at home. So while you listen to it, pretend like you're hanging out with a punk friend of yours from high school, listening to the album in his messy room, because thats exactly where the album was created. I like to think that each song is unique and displays a different side of my personality. I hope that when anyone listens to this album they experience a sense of adventure and nostalgia, or something like that. The lyrics in this album are heavily based on 3 main things: Dreams that i've had, Important people, and memories of my very young childhood (more specifically, memories that I am able to relive through watching home videos and flipping through old photo books) If you are able to connect with even just one song from this project, that would be just swell, my friend.

THE HAARP MACHINE - DISCLOSURE

I can't help but post any band with a name like 'The HAARP Machine' (see weather modification) or with songs titles like: Esoteric Agenda, Lower the Populace, and From Vanity to Utility.  This is a reward for all the loyal followers who want to see more metal on TONS MORE COWBELL.

STREAM THE OFFICIAL NIGHT MOVES DEBUT ALBUM

A long time coming, the official full-length debut album from Minneapolis' Night Moves, TONS MORE COWBELL's #1 ALBUM OF 2011, is available for stream today at Spin.  It's still called Colored Emotions, but it's not quite the same album they self-released last year.  My favorite change has got to be the new version of 'Classical Hearts' that sounds as if it was recorded underwater.  My least favorite change is probably the removal of 'Finally Home.'  I thought it was a brilliant ender to the previous version, but what the fuck do I know.

They are on tour now, so catch them when they come up in your hood.  And buy the album.  Or check out these fucking awesome t-shirts they have up for sale now!
